Rochdale Fire Station (Maclure Rd, Rochdale)

I remember doing a gig at the Firestation in 1963 called Rockabeat 63. It involved the four top Rochdale groups of the time and I was the Rhythm guitarist with The Travellers. It was the very early days, I think The Travellers were probably one of the youngest groups around with an average age of 15 years. Most other groups were a bit older at around the 18 mark. Great night, The place was buzzing, Some good groups on that night,

Building has had a lot of work done , now part of the  "Fireground" fire museum . Was upstairs above the fire engines . Dad was a joiner for council , assures me the club shut because it failed it's Fire Inspection ! The museum probably has more information & photos . Did anyone ever slide down the pole during a rock night ?
