St Marks (Gladwick, Oldham)

Another venue in Oldham was St.Marks, Glodwick which used to hold regular dances on Saturday nights very much like St. James, Barry Street as already mentioned. I played at St. Marks a few times with our group - The Faction.

I went to the youth club - it was always packed, dancin to live bands. A regular band was Design Paul Merideth vocal and Barry Duckworth as drummer. I lived over the top of our shop Gifts Galore on Union St, Oldham and Design use to practice over the shop next door. I was in my element but my mum wasn't pleased with the noise.

Does anybody remember Design? Top band.
