"I HAVE NEVER LOVED ANYONE IN ALL OF MY LIFE AS I HAVE LOVED JULIE..ALWAYS IN MY HEART...ALWAYS"
Got chucked out of here with a mate by two bouncers who were quite violent. It REALLY was a case of mistaken identity. Nevertheless this was the best place to go dancing...great music and a great place to meet up with folks. I even won a contest here and a modelling opportunity. Almost took it until the agent made a play for me...!!! Ken, Oldham
Used to go in early to mid seventies, there was a band called Sunshine Cake, did a cover of "Alright Now" originally released by Free. Any ideas what became of them?
I remember Sunshine Cake in 1972 not sure what happened to them though..Anyone remember Julios K Scragg.. think he ended up as a DJ on a radio station in West Yorkshire
Happy memories of this place I used to go dancing there in the 70's I met a girl there called Carol she lived in Fitton Hill, Oldham. we would always meet there every week and just enjoy dancing together.
Ben Murphy, John Michael Flanighan now living with his Family in the Philippines doing lots of charity work, check his Facebook page out John Michael Flanighan ( Ben Murphy)
Does anyone remember the guys/northern soul dancers coming back from the all nighters at Wigan Casino on a Sunday night at The Cats Whiskers … i just can’t remember the exact year …. Thinking 1973/4 ish … just remember being memorised by the dancing….
Does anyone remember a bouncer with one of those mexican rashes? Dark shoulder length hair...I think he was lead bouncer? I danced lots with a beautiful lady but he beat her up really bad in the arcade and tried to get me in the cleaning area next to the pay area entrance,... fortunately I got away..I was 16 with my brother's clothes on to look older....I never went again....happy days till then, Mark
