The Garrick Cabaret Club was in Leigh Road, Leigh, Lancashire and opened on Friday, November 17, 1961 with Ronnie Carroll, Louis Hamilton, Peter Robinson, Dane Roberts, Johnny Kennedy, etc. from 7pm.

The club was rear of The Odeon Cinema at 20 Leigh Road, Leigh, Lancashire which had opened in 1945. Before that it had been called The Grand Theatre and Hippodrome which had opened on Monday, December 14, 1908. In 1945 it was taken over by the Circuits Management Association (CMA) and later become The Rank Organisation. In December 1967 it was sold to The Classic Cinema chain and became The Classic Cinema. In 1984 it was taken over by the Cannon Group and was renamed The Cannon Cinema. On Friday, October 6, 1989 The Cannon Cinema closed.
The Garrick Club's owner was Roy Jackson (b. 1920, Hindsford, Lancashire now Manchester 46, Greater Manchester, England d. 1989) who spent £10,000 on this his latest venture. He had earlier that year opened The Caroline Club 82 Market Street, Atherton, Lancashire now Manchester 46, Greater Manchester. Jackson lived at 170 Manchester Road, Tyldesley, Lancashire.
The Garrick Theatre Club closed on Tuesday, March 7, 1978 with comic duo Cannon and Ball.
I was a member of the resident group at the Garrick, The Q Factor. I remember all those acts well. Would be great to get a copy of the posters. Would it be possible to email them to me.
