The Mersey Club was at The Mersey Hotel, Princess Road, West Didsbury, South Manchester 20 and opened on Sunday, January 7, 1962 with The Skyliners.
 
It was advertised in The Manchester Evening News as For Members Only. At Last ! At Last ! Top Entertainment In South Manchester Every Sunday. The Mersey Club The Mersey Club Opens Sunday, January 7 : The Mersey Club With Resident Group the Fabulous Skyliners And coming shortly: Joe Brown And The Bruvvers Shane Fenton And The Fentones Licensed Bars. I remember the Mersey Club very well, my late good friend Acker Bilk played there several times. He used to do in his act Lennon and McCartney;s a taste of honey brilliantly i may ad. I used to meet up with him there and as i was a professional singer at the time and knowing how much i loved that song he asked me one night to join him on stage and sing it. It went down a storm, he was a great guy, lovely to be with and a great musician. Great place and a good audience.

Wow no comments about the Mersey.This place was iconic some of the biggest stars of the day played there.I remember seeing the caravan Joseph Locke stayed in while he was working there.I remember watching Tony Christie there before he had hit records .They even had waiters serving you drinks very civil.
