Line-up

  • Johnny Branigan - guitar and vocals
  • Terry Flynn bass
  • Ian Morris guitar
  • Dave Coulter drums

A band that I started back in the 60s called The Bent Society. We did a lot of youth clubs round Cheshire then progressed in to the Manchester scene.

It was made up of me guitar and vocals, Terry Flynn bass, Ian Morris guitar, Dave Coulter drums.

I was 16 going on to 17. Later we shortened the name to The Society playing at Bredbury Hall, Bamboo, a lot of south Cheshire gigs.

I left to join a band called the Halons - a Stockport clothes shop close to the Toggery. Sadly didn’t last long which was good for me as I moved on to bigger and better things.

However the Society played an important part of the way music of it’s day. We made it’s small but important mark on the Manchester beat. I hope that is of some interest.

Kind regards
Johnny Brannigan
