Marty Barry and The Teenbeats (Stockport)

The four-piece band Marty Barry and the Teenbeats formed in 1960 at The Reddish Youth Club, Stockport, Cheshire by Marty Barry on lead vocals (b. Martin Matkin, 1942) with Leo Laherty on drums (b. 1942).
They played around the Manchester clubs for about three years, and were well known at the time.
In Early January 1963. Laherty joined The Country Gentlemen (formed in Early January 1963 in Middleton Village, Lancashire).
