Very popular in the Manchester club scene in the late 1960s and early/mid 1970s.
 
He also did evening shows (up to 1975) on BBC Radio Manchester, attracting audiences of up to 1 million.

In the early 1970s The Baron (real name rumoured to be Mike ? or Barry Davies) had a two hour show on BBC Radio Manchester from 8pm until 10pm Monday to Friday.The  Friday night show was an oldies show. You could phone in requests on Friday nights. His show moved to 4.30pm and 6.30pm and he worked on a morning programme called’ The Two Of Us’ with presenter Alec Greenhalgh. He was also on Radio Caroline, Radio London, Radio Luxembourg (Fab 208), Manx Radio, and had stints on BBC Radio 1 as early as 1968. Rumoured to have changed his name to Baron Baron. Reportedly he started out as a DJ with he who must not be named in the 1960s. A regular face around concerts and nd show in Manchester - a friend of City and United players, he seems to have disappeared after leaving Radio Manchester.

He worked in clubs 'in and around Manchester' including Bellevue (perhaps 1966/7) before doing a time on Radio Luxembourg and R1. 
He also did club work in the later 1960s and into the 1970s while at Radio Manchester......details and pics to follow.
