I used to lend DJ Gary Laine my original copy of Fats Domino Walking to New Orleans which he would play at the end of the evening.  Sadly got rid of my American imports collection but used them for some DJ spots including a trial at Takis.

I was bar manager 1969, Andy a Scottish chap was club manager lovely old boy, his wife worked on the door weekends.  Gary always played music when setting up the disco and he particularly liked a Neil Diamond one that I just loved, I asked if he could get me a copy but he said sadly not as no longer available. When I left to come home to Norfolk he gifted his copy to me, I still have it. All the DJs used to get their records from his shop in the doorway to the club.

Top of the Town - half a crown - you can't get in with jeans on! My boyfriend used to say this! I met him at Top of the Town as he vaguely knew Gary Laine. Happy times.

Very popular at Top of the Town and I spent a really nice evening with him one Xmas Eve, when we went to Tiffanys.  Actually spent the time WALTZING.

I think his real name was Brian Hopkins. Where is he now??
