I have just come across a letterhead from Robert Holland-Ford dating back to the 60's. I was a member of Liverpool group Mike & the Thunderbirds (1961 - 1963) and Robert must have booked us at some point in our existance. Unfortunately I only have his name on the letterhead, but no details

Hello Mike, just wondering if The Thunderbirds you were member of recorded a couple of songs for BBC Radio 4 in Manchester, for a Play For Today called 'The Starlight boys'?  My hubby wrote the play and when I listen to it, I wondered what became of the group. Thanks

Mike,  I'm not sure if I have the right person, but I think my Dad - Dennis Aspinall was in the Thunderbirds with you, with Rod McDonald.  Am I correct?

Hi Claire. You are correct. Your dad and I played in the Thunderbirds together with Rod and Clive Smith. It was our first group

Thanks for replying Mike.  I have a few paper clippings that Rod passed to us at Dad's funeral (Jan 2019) which prompted me to have a little look around.  Hope you are well.
