The Forty Thieves was at 10 Fennell Street off Corporation Street, Manchester 4 and was opposite Withy Grove.

It was an Indian / Pakistani cafe by day on the ground floor and a disco a night in the basement.

It had opened as Al-Kazar on Friday, July 12, 1963 with The Emperors of Rhythm from 7.30pm to 12pm.
